About this tool
This free age calculator answers the question “how old am I?” down to the day. It converts a date of birth into an exact chronological age in years, months and days, following the same calendar rules used on official forms: a year of age is completed on each birthday anniversary, months are counted as whole calendar months, and leap years are fully accounted for. It also tells you the weekday you were born on, how many total days and hours you have lived, and exactly how many days remain until your next birthday.
People use it for filling out documents, checking age eligibility for school, sports categories, retirement or visas, comparing age gaps, and planning birthday milestones such as turning 10,000 days old. Everything is calculated locally in your browser — your birth date is never uploaded, stored or logged.
Frequently asked questions
How is my exact age calculated?
The calculator counts whole years up to your last birthday, then whole calendar months, then the remaining days. When the birth day doesn't exist in a shorter month (for example the 31st), the month boundary is clamped to that month's last day, which is the convention used by most official age calculations.
What if I was born on February 29?
You still age one year per calendar year. In non-leap years the tool counts February 28 — the last day of February — as the birthday anniversary, so a year of age is completed then and the next-birthday countdown always points at a real calendar date. Your true February 29 birthday returns every leap year.
Can I calculate the age at a date other than today?
Yes. Set the “Age on this date” field to any date — for example a school enrollment cut-off, a wedding date or a date in history — and the tool shows the exact age on that day.
Is my date of birth stored anywhere?
No. The whole calculation runs in your browser using JavaScript. Nothing you type is transmitted, saved or logged, so the tool is safe to use with real personal data.
