About this tool
This free online crop tool cuts any rectangular area out of a photo or graphic — no software to install and no account needed. It is perfect for making square profile pictures, 16:9 video thumbnails and cover photos, 9:16 stories, print-ready 3:2 photos, or simply removing distracting edges from a snapshot. The readout under the image always shows the exact selection size and position in real pixels of the original image, so you can crop precisely. If you also need to change the resolution afterwards, the Image Resizer is one click away.
Your picture is cropped entirely inside your browser with the HTML5 canvas — it is never uploaded to a server, so private photos, screenshots and documents stay on your device. The crop copies the selected pixels one-to-one from the original, which means no scaling and no quality loss beyond the output format you choose.
Frequently asked questions
How do I crop a perfect square?
Click the 1:1 aspect-ratio button. The selection snaps to the largest centered square, stays square while you resize it with the corner handles, and can be dragged anywhere on the image.
Does cropping reduce image quality?
No — the selected pixels are copied one-to-one from the original with no scaling. If you export as PNG the crop is completely lossless; JPG and WebP re-encode the image at the quality you set on the slider, exactly like saving from a photo editor.
Can I crop to exact pixel coordinates?
The line under the picture shows the live selection as width × height at (x, y) in original-image pixels. Drag the box and handles until it reads the values you need — the arrow keys nudge the box one pixel at a time (hold Shift for ten) for exact placement.
Is my photo uploaded to your server?
No. The image is opened and cropped locally in your browser and never leaves your device. You can even keep using the tool offline once the page has loaded.
