Frequently asked questions
Which image formats are supported?
You can save images as PNG, JPG, WebP or BMP. As input, the tool accepts anything your browser can decode — JPG, PNG, WebP, GIF, BMP and, in most modern browsers, AVIF. Animated GIFs are converted using their first frame only.
What happens to transparent areas?
PNG and WebP keep transparency exactly as it is. JPG and BMP do not support transparency, so any transparent pixels are flattened onto a white background during conversion.
Why does WebP output fail in my browser?
A few browsers (notably older versions of Safari) can decode WebP but cannot encode it. If you see an error when converting to WebP, choose PNG or JPG instead, or try a Chromium-based browser or Firefox.
Is there a limit on how many images I can convert?
There is no fixed limit on the number of files. Each individual image can be up to roughly 64 megapixels, which covers virtually all photos. Since everything runs on your own device, very large batches are only limited by your computer's memory.
