This free random picker is a fair name selector for giveaways, raffles, classroom cold-calling, prize draws, secret-santa style assignments and any moment you need to choose without bias. Paste a list from a spreadsheet, a comment thread or a sign-up sheet and the tool draws winners with no favouritism. When you draw more than one winner they are always distinct, so the same entry can never win twice in a single draw — just like pulling names from a hat.
The selection uses your device's cryptographically secure random number generator with a proper Fisher–Yates shuffle, which keeps every entry equally likely regardless of list length or position. Because everything runs locally in your browser, your list of names and the results are never uploaded, stored or logged — making it safe for private entrant lists and easy to run again offline once the page has loaded.
Frequently asked questions
Does every entry have an equal chance to win?
Yes. The picker uses a Fisher–Yates shuffle driven by the browser's cryptographically secure generator, so each entry has exactly the same probability regardless of where it sits in the list or how long the list is.
Can the same person win twice?
Not within a single draw — multiple winners are always distinct. If you keep duplicate lines (by unticking the cleanup option) an entry that appears several times gets proportionally more chances, which is handy for weighting by number of tickets.
How do I draw winners one at a time without repeats?
Draw one winner, then click Remove winners from list to take them out, and pick again. This keeps every round fair while guaranteeing nobody wins more than once across multiple draws.
Is my list of names kept private?
Completely. The entire draw runs in your browser using local JavaScript. Your list is never sent to a server, saved, or shared, so you can safely use real names and email addresses.
