Spin the Wheel
Type your options into a colorful wheel and spin it to pick a random winner. Free, fair and private — the whole wheel runs in your browser and nothing is uploaded.
How to use the spinning wheel
- Enter your options. Type one choice per line in the box — names, restaurants, prizes, chores or anything else. The wheel redraws automatically as you edit.
- Spin the wheel. Press Spin the wheel or the center button. The wheel accelerates, slows down with realistic easing and stops on a random segment.
- Read the winner. The chosen option is announced under the wheel. Optionally tick "Remove the winner" to draw the next name without repeats, then spin again.
About this tool
This free wheel of names is a random picker for any situation where you need to choose one option fairly: classroom name draws, raffle and giveaway winners, deciding where to eat, assigning chores, picking a team captain, or settling a friendly argument. Because the wheel is drawn on an HTML5 canvas, each option gets its own colored segment sized equally, so every choice has exactly the same chance of winning no matter how the wheel looks when it stops.
The landing position is chosen with your browser's cryptographic random number generator before the animation even starts, so the visible spin is just for fun — the outcome cannot be predicted or nudged. Everything happens locally in your browser: your list of options is never uploaded or saved to any server, making it safe for confidential names and private draws, and it keeps working even if your connection drops.
Frequently asked questions
Is each option equally likely to win?
Yes. Every option is drawn as an equal-sized slice and the winner is selected with a cryptographically secure random generator, so all options have exactly the same probability regardless of their color or position on the wheel.
How many options can I add?
You can add two or more options and there is no strict upper limit, though the labels get harder to read past roughly 30 slices. For very long lists the wheel still spins fairly and shrinks the text to fit each segment.
How do I draw multiple winners without repeats?
Tick the "Remove the winner after each spin" box. After every spin the winning option is deleted from your list, so the next spin picks from the remaining names — perfect for drawing 1st, 2nd and 3rd place.
Can the wheel be rigged or predicted?
No. The result is generated randomly and independently of the animation, and nothing is transmitted or stored. Reloading the page resets the wheel, and there is no hidden weighting toward any option.
