Frequently asked questions
Does it count words case-insensitively?
By default yes — The and the are counted together. Enable Case sensitive if you want to treat differently-cased words as distinct, for example to separate a proper noun from a common word.
What are "common words"?
They are stop words — extremely frequent function words such as the, a, and, of, to, in that usually carry little meaning. Turning on Ignore common words filters them out so the ranking highlights the words that actually define your text.
How is the frequency percentage calculated?
Each word's count is divided by the total number of counted words (after any minimum-length or stop-word filtering) and shown as a percentage. It reflects how much of your text that single word makes up.
Can I export the results?
Yes. Use Copy CSV to place a comma-separated word,count,frequency list on your clipboard, or Download CSV to save it as a file you can open in a spreadsheet. The export always includes every word, even if the on-screen table is capped for performance.
