About this tool
This browser-based video cropper removes unwanted edges, letterboxing or background areas while also letting you shorten the clip. Use a free-form crop or common aspect ratios such as square 1:1, landscape 16:9 and vertical 9:16 for social posts, profile videos, presentations and screen recordings.
The source is drawn into an HTML canvas and recorded with your browser's MediaRecorder API. Audio can be retained, and both cropping and trimming are applied in one pass. No video is uploaded, stored on a server or watermarked.
Frequently asked questions
Can I crop and trim at the same time?
Yes. The crop box controls which part of each frame is kept, while the two timeline sliders control when the exported clip starts and ends. Both are applied in one export.
Is the original audio retained?
Yes. Keep audio is enabled by default. The audio is captured from the source video and combined with the cropped canvas stream during export.
Why does exporting take as long as the selected clip?
The browser draws and records the cropped frames in real time. A 30-second selection therefore takes about 30 seconds to export. Keep the tab visible while it runs.
Is my video uploaded?
No. The video is decoded, cropped and recorded locally with browser APIs. It never leaves your device.
