Which option fixes an upside-down video?

Choose 180°. If your video lies on its side, use ⟳ 90° when the top of the picture points left, or ⟲ 90° when the top points right — the live preview shows the result before you export, so you can simply try both.

Why was my phone video sideways in the first place?

Phones record in one fixed sensor orientation and store a rotation flag in the file's metadata. Software that ignores this flag shows the raw, sideways image. This tool bakes the rotation into the actual pixels, so the flag no longer matters.

Why does rotating take as long as the video?

The video is re-recorded in real time with your browser's built-in encoder, so a 3-minute clip takes about 3 minutes. Keep the tab open and in the foreground while processing — background tabs may be throttled and drop frames.

What format is the exported file?

Recent Chrome and Edge versions export MP4; Firefox and most other browsers export WebM. The download filename always matches the real format, and both play in every modern browser and most video apps.
