How to trim a video online

Why does the export take as long as the clip itself?
The trimmer plays your selection once and records it with the browser's MediaRecorder API. That real-time capture is what allows the whole process to stay on your device with no upload, but it means a 2-minute selection takes about 2 minutes to export. Keep the tab visible while it runs.
Which output format will I get?
The browser picks the best format it can record: most Chromium browsers and Safari produce MP4 or WebM, and Firefox produces WebM. The download button always names the file with the correct extension for what was recorded.
Is the audio kept in the trimmed clip?
Yes, as long as the source video has an audio track and the player is not muted during export. If you mute the player or turn the volume down while it records, the exported clip can end up silent.
Is my video uploaded anywhere?
No. The file is opened directly from your device with a local object URL, trimmed in the browser and downloaded from memory. Nothing is sent to a server, so even large private videos are safe to trim here.
