How to use the meta tag generator
- Fill in your page details. Type your page title and description, then add your URL, site name and an optional social image and Twitter handle.
- Check the previews. Watch the live search-result and social-share previews update as you type, and keep an eye on the character counters so your text is not cut off.
- Copy the code. Press Copy code and paste the generated tags into the
<head>section of your HTML — that is it.
About this tool
Meta tags tell search engines and social networks how to display your page. This generator builds the essential set in one place: the classic title, description, keywords, author, robots and canonical tags for SEO, the Open Graph tags that Facebook, LinkedIn, WhatsApp, Slack and Pinterest read, and the Twitter Card tags used by X. Because Open Graph and Twitter fields reuse your title, description and image, you get consistent rich previews everywhere without writing each tag by hand.
Everything runs locally in your browser — nothing you type is uploaded, logged or stored, so the tool works offline once loaded and is safe for pages that are not public yet. The generated HTML is standard and framework-agnostic, so it works with WordPress, Shopify, static sites, React, or any CMS where you can edit the page head.
Frequently asked questions
Where do I paste the generated tags?
Paste them inside the <head>…</head> section of your HTML, ideally near the top before other scripts. In a CMS, look for an SEO plugin or a "custom head code" / "header snippet" field.
How long should my title and description be?
Keep titles around 50–60 characters and descriptions around 120–160 characters. Google truncates longer text with an ellipsis. The counters turn red when you go over the recommended length.
Do keywords meta tags still help SEO?
Google has ignored the keywords meta tag for ranking for many years, so it is optional. We include it because a few smaller search engines and internal site searches still read it. Focus your effort on the title and description.
What image size works best for social previews?
Use a 1200×630 pixel image (a 1.91:1 ratio) with the summary_large_image Twitter card for the biggest, sharpest preview. Smaller square images pair well with the plain summary card.
