About this tool
Your public IP address is the unique number your internet provider assigns to your connection — it is how websites, servers and games know where to send data back to you. This tool shows that address plus the extra details every browser reveals automatically: your timezone, preferred languages, operating-system platform, screen resolution, viewport size and, where supported, the type and speed of your network connection. It is handy for troubleshooting, confirming a VPN is working, setting up port forwarding or filling in support tickets.
The public IP lookup is the one piece of information that must come from outside your device, so it is requested from the free ipify.org API and displayed directly to you — 123Tool.online does not store, log or track it. All the other browser and network details are read locally with standard JavaScript and never leave your device. If you are behind a VPN or proxy, the address shown is the exit server's IP, not your home address.

What is the difference between a public and local IP address?
Your public IP is the single address your whole network shows to the internet. Your local (private) IP — like 192.168.x.x — is assigned by your router to each device at home. This page shows your public IP; local addresses are not exposed to websites by modern browsers for privacy reasons.
Why does my IP address change?
Most home connections use dynamic IP addresses that your provider rotates periodically or when your router reconnects. Mobile networks and VPNs change it too. Press Refresh after switching networks to see the new address.
Does this tool store or track my IP?
No. The address is looked up and shown to you only. It is not saved, logged or sent to our servers. The lookup itself is handled by the ipify.org public API.
Is it IPv4 or IPv6?
The label under the address tells you which version was returned. Short addresses with dots (like 203.0.113.5) are IPv4; long addresses with colons (like 2001:db8::1) are IPv6. Which one appears depends on your network's configuration.
