How to use the Screen Recorder
- Choose your audio. Tick Include microphone audio if you want to narrate over the recording, and keep Capture tab / system audio enabled to record computer sound where your browser supports it.
- Start recording. Click Start recording and pick the screen, window or browser tab you want to capture in the browser's share dialog. A live preview and timer appear while recording; you can pause and resume at any time.
- Stop and download. Press Stop recording (or the browser's “Stop sharing” bar), review the playback and download the finished video file to your device.

Depending on the browser, the recording is saved as a WebM file (most Chrome, Edge and Firefox versions) or MP4 (Safari and newer Chromium builds) — the download is named to match automatically.
Frequently asked questions
Can it record system or tab audio, not just my microphone?
Yes, where the browser allows it. In Chrome and Edge, choosing a browser tab offers a “share tab audio” toggle, and sharing the entire screen on Windows offers system audio. Firefox and Safari currently only provide microphone audio, so enable the microphone option there if you need sound.
What format is the recording saved in?
The tool picks the best format your browser can encode: MP4 where supported (for example Safari), otherwise WebM with the VP9 or VP8 codec. The downloaded file extension always matches the actual format, and both play in modern browsers and video players.
Is there a time limit or watermark?
No watermark and no artificial time limit. Very long recordings are only limited by your device's free memory, since the captured video is held in the browser until you download it — an hour of 1080p screen capture is typically a few hundred megabytes.
Is my screen recording uploaded anywhere?
No. The capture, encoding and file creation all run inside your browser on your own machine. Nothing is transmitted over the network, which makes the tool safe for recording confidential dashboards, internal apps or private documents.
